Moccafilm is an independent film production company based in Berlin, Germany, and Izmir, Turkey. The company produces fictional as well as non-fictional stories for audiences around the world.

Moccafilm is like an artisanal cup of Turkish mocha coffee: Skillfully crafted with refined techniques, fueled by the power of community, served with a invitation to connect and communicate. Created in partnership with a network of German and Turkish creatives, the company’s productions tell gripping stories with a cultural twist.

What would you do if you were confronted by a racist or sexist individual?
One night in Berlin, a woman has to protect herself from German national extremists, aggressive Turkish teenagers and a self-help freak. Surprisingly, she doesn’t need to say any word to fight back.

Our first short movie won various awards and was shown at festivals worldwide.

WHO WE ARE

Moccafilm was founded by the award-winning directors Ismet Ergün and Kerem Ergün and is completed by producer Anna Hansch. Depending on a project's needs we combine in-house-skills with the expertise of our German-Turkish network, bringing together the best of both worlds.

In the past each of us worked in leading roles in film, TV and art industry - for companies such as ProSiebenSAT1 Media AG, ARD and PLATO Film Istanbul. Furthermore everyone of us worked on own projects big and small: for example on Bende Sira (click for more info on Wikipedia), Ismet Ergüns first short movie, which was awarded more than 30 times on Festivals worldwide.
